As you enter a zone youre automatically added to a social network which only includes those also in the same zone as you. While in the zone you can see and interact with those in the same zone.

Over time as you use Goodnite your reputation score increases as being an active user in that location. You can also see others reputation score and see how you compare. The more active you are in a zone the higher your score will climb and more features you can unlock.
